The product
Half-round split reed, flat and rustic
Our split reed fence is made from peeled reed split lengthwise into half-round pieces, then bound tightly side by side. Laid flat-side out, the reeds lie flush for a smoother, more even face than whole-round reed — a clean rustic look that suits gardens, patios and terraces.
It's tough and weather-resistant, treated against insects and decay, and stands up to season after season outdoors. Light and flexible, it unrolls and fixes to any existing fence or frame in minutes and can be trimmed to shape.
Rustic, but refined
The split face gives a tidier, more finished surface than round reed while keeping reed's warm natural straw colour — an easy way to add private, characterful screening.
Questions & answers
Frequently asked questions
What makes split reed different from round reed?
The reeds are split lengthwise into half-round pieces and laid flat-side out, so they sit flush for a flatter, tidier, more even face than whole-round reed.
How much privacy does it give?
Up to about 70% — a solid everyday screen. For near-total privacy, choose a high-density thick or extra-thick grade.
How long does it last outdoors?
At least 3–5 years in a normal European garden. Kept off wet ground it lasts longer, and reed's natural colour changes little over time.
